TAX DAY TEA PARTY IN COOKEVILLE, TENNESSEE (Post 2)

Fred Caldwell holds up a replica of one of the great patriotic flags of the early days of our Republic.

People assemble about a half-hour before the 4 PM start time.

There is few things more dangerous to our national image than a President who will apologize for who we are. We are the country who God has led to create a better standard of life for the planet. Why our President is apologizing is beyond me.

Scores ready for the protest even twenty minutes out. This photo looks toward the tent near the corner of Washington and Spring.

Even the flags are still. Perhaps they are anticipating the feel of what very well looks to be an historic day in the nation's history.

Even the generation that the tax-and-spend policies will end up hurting worse understand the gravity of the policies that hundreds-of-thousands protested Wednesday.

Those with only spare change to their name tell Washington to keep it. Americans want the freedom to do better than just make spare change.

Wow, I never realized that Putnam county (http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/47/47141.html), with a 21.6 percent poverty level and median household income of $36,131, had so many people earning over $250,000. That must, of course, be all of these people, since those earning under $250,000 have all received tax cuts under the Obama administration. Or perhaps these people are upset that Obama will allow the Bush tax cuts on the wealthiest to expire, returning the rate to 39.6 percent for this group--almost 20% higher than that of Reagan's first term! ...Well, according to http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977623449&grpId=3659174697241980&nav=Groupspace , that should be 20 percent lower than Reagan's first term tax rate, not higher, but still--we've all seen the prosperity and healthy, well-balanced economy that has arisen from the economic policies of the past decade.
