SANTORUM ENDORSES ROMNEY
Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum has endorsed Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney for the Presidency. I'm still hoping this great statesman will run for Governor of Pennsylvania in 2010, as rumors are suggesting. Another good reason to vote Mitt Romney!

Rick Takes 9% Of Vote In Poll For Thompson's VP
In a weekly poll hosted by www.anotherronaldreagan.com, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum was chosen by a number of people to be Fred Thompson's running-mate for the White House in 2008. In his first week on the poll, Santorum was the choice of 31 people, or 9 percent of the 354 who voted. The top vote-getter was former Oklahoma Congressman J.C. Watts, who is largely rumored to be a possible choice if Thompson wins the GOP nomination for President. Watts garnered 65 votes, or 18 percent of the total. Following is last week's results, going through Monday:
Rudy Giuliani 12% 41
Mitt Romney 10% 37

A DUO THAT WOULD EXCEL ~ THOMPSON AND SANTORUM

Here is my idea for the 2008 Republican ticket ~ Former Senator Fred Thompson of Tennessee and former Senator Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania. Why go through the fuss of having a conservative candidate with great leadership at the top of the ticket with a moderate at the bottom, or vise-versa. Both these candidates complement each other well. Both are conservative with strong leadership skills. They both know very well the dangers threatening our country, from the borders and from Islamofascism. They're both straight talkers. When they have something important to say, they say it and are not sorry if it is the truth. Thompson is stronger on foreign policy issues, while Santorum is stronger on social conservative issues. Santorum would not be a weak VP. Should the time come, God forbid, if Fred couldn't lead the country for a time, Rick could take the lead without much problem. It would, also, set up Rick for a Presidential bid down the road. The GOP could have a couple of good Presidential nominees for the foreseeable future. Sounds good to me!
Ronald Reagan was not excited about having George H.W. Bush as a running mate. That is fairly well known. It may be because H.W. was not really a strong conservative. Look at his record. Why should Fred have a problem with a liberal or a moderate by his side in the race. WHY SHOULD WE AS THE CONSERVATIVE VOTERS HAVE THAT PROBLEM! Santorum as the veep would be thrilling! A team that would appoint good judges, know how to deal with China, work to stop abortion, know how to solve the border situation and know how to deal with Islamofascists. That is only the tip of the iceberg. That sounds to me like what America needs at this crucial time in our history. We need good leadership that will preserve America and her strong values. The Thompson-Santorum duo COULD DO THAT! They could do it better than anyone out there now, except for Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter.
I ask Americans, especially bloggers and talk-radio hosts to join me in supporting Fred Thompson for President and encouraging him to choose Rick Santorum as his running mate. With influence, this could happen. These are challenging times for America. We need the leadership of these two gentlemen.
WE'LL BE FREDTASTIC WITH THOMPSON AND SANTORUM IN 2008!

Rick Santorum: Down But Not Out!

Numerous websites are mentioning that former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum's political career is likely not over. Among the possibilities: a run for Pennsylvania Governor or Arlen Specter's U.S. Senate seat in 2010, a possible seat on Bush's cabinet, or ambassador to Ireland, Italy or the Vatican. Even larger office possibilities are Vice Presidential running mate in 2008 or even a run for the Presidency in 2012 if the Republican nominee loses.
I am on the bandwagon for Santorum for President in 2012 or '16.

Santorum: "My wife would throw me out of the house if I do anything in '08."
Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum told Michael Smerconish on his radio show that he will not be a contender for the White House in 2008, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. Santorum, who lost re-election to Democratic Pennsylvania Attorney General Bob Casey, Jr. last week, said on the air, "My wife would throw me out of the house if I do anything in '08." Santorum stated that his family is the reason he would not go for a Presidential bid in 2008. He spent the last week meeting with staff and considering job offers, some by media outlets, but he didn't go into detail.
This is likely not the end of Mr. Santorum's political career, though. He is not looking to run for the Presidency, but that doesn't mean that he won't be a Vice Presidential running-mate, or be chosen for a Presidential cabinet, or even run for an office again. What about Santorum 2012 or 2016?

Santorum Down, But Probably Not Out
SantorumBlog, a great resource of information on outgoing Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, has a few posts on what may be in store for him in his political future. Among the possibilities most mentioned are that of running for U.S. President in 2008 or for Pennsylvania Governor in 2010. Also mentioned are of Vice President in 2008 and U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican, Italy, or Ireland, or to fill a spot in a Presidential Cabinet or other administration posts.
It would be excellent to have a Tancredo-Santorum Presidential ticket in 2008. I don't know if any better could be done! It would be just as good if it were vise-versa, with Santorum heading the ticket and Tancredo his Vice Presidential running mate. I don't think that Santorum's political career is quite over yet, and I would be willing to support him in a future office bid, just as I have supported him ever since I became strongly interested and involved in politics.
I have visited SantorumBlog numerous times this year, and I have just recently posted it on my Links list on the right side of this page. Check it out!
